2nd year 4th term project: addictanz

ARC202
In this project, each student was asked to choose an 'object' under the topic 'hoarding'. A scenario was determined with users hoarding this selected object and their specific features. Living units were formed according to the characteristics of these users.

At the beginning of the project, we were asked to make a timeline of this object. At this point I have broken down each step in the dance moves. Then, it was requested to draw the cross-section of this object in AutoCAD. Thinking that the cross section of the dance is time, I took the time and drew each movement.

The dance plague, which started under the name of 'dance to death' in Strasbourg in 1518, spread and infected other people. People danced non-stop. Some of those who came together and danced for the same purpose died and some had their organs damaged. The objects that people collect also have a lifespan. These items either wear out or become severely damaged and become ruins. At this point, I compared people who got sick from mass dancing to objects being stacked.

The project area: Fatih- next to Sokullu Mehmet Pasha Mosque

The main point in this project was to separate and at the same time not separate music and dance from the street and the mosque next door. While I took care to place more living units on the facade facing the mosque, I designated the facade facing the core of the building and the side street as an area open to dancing.
